Are your shoes suitable for AFOs, DAFOs or KAFOs?
Many of the adaptive shoes we stock are suitable for people who wear AFOs, DAFOs, KAFOs or other orthotic devices. Features such as extra depth, wide openings, removable insoles and adjustable fastenings can make it easier to fit shoes over braces.
Because every orthotic and every shoe is different, we recommend checking the individual product description or contacting us before ordering if you're unsure which style will work best.
What are adaptive shoes?
Adaptive shoes are designed to make getting footwear on and off easier while improving comfort and independence. They often include features such as zip-around openings, extra-wide access, adjustable fastenings, removable insoles and additional depth.
They're suitable for people with limited mobility, orthotics, swollen feet, arthritis, neurological conditions and many other accessibility needs.
What makes adaptive shoes different from regular shoes?
Unlike traditional footwear, adaptive shoes are designed with accessibility in mind. Depending on the style, they may feature full-opening zips, wider openings, extra depth, lightweight construction or removable insoles.
These features make dressing quicker, easier and more comfortable without compromising on style.
Do the shoes have removable insoles?
Many of our shoes include removable insoles to provide additional depth or make room for custom orthotics.
We recommend replacing the original insole with your orthotic rather than removing all cushioning completely, as this helps maintain the shoe's comfort, support and durability.
Can I wear your shoes with orthotics?
Yes. Many of our adaptive shoes are designed to accommodate custom orthotics thanks to their removable insoles, extra depth and adjustable fit.
As every orthotic is different, compatibility can vary between brands and styles. If you'd like advice before purchasing, our team will be happy to help.
Do you sell wide fit and extra wide shoes?
Yes. We stock a range of wide fit and extra-wide shoes from leading adaptive footwear brands.
Many styles are designed for swollen feet, orthotics, AFOs and anyone needing extra room for comfort throughout the day.
Are adaptive shoes suitable for wheelchair users?
Many wheelchair users choose adaptive footwear because it's easier to put on, offers greater comfort when seated and can accommodate orthotics or swollen feet.
The most suitable shoe will depend on your individual needs, so please get in touch if you'd like personalised advice.
Do you offer boots?
Yes! We currently carry boots in toddler, children's, and women's sizes. Please check our online store.
Are your shoes machine washable?
If you want to wash your shoes, we recommend occasional hand washing. We advise against putting your shoes in the washing machine.
Can I order a pair of individual shoes in different sizes?

How do I choose the correct shoe size?
Each footwear brand fits slightly differently, so we recommend using the size guide provided on the individual product page.
If you're wearing orthotics or braces, remember to allow enough room for both your foot and the device. When in doubt, our team is happy to help you choose the right size.
